I was laughing my head off this morning while reading Numbers 11.

Those poor weeping whining Israelites!  Weeping in their doorways.  Weeping throughout their families.

“WAWAWA!  Who will give us meat to eat?  We remember that yummy fish we used to eat. Not to mention the fresh crisp cucumbers, sweet melons, and those savory leeks, onions and garlic!  But now, our appetite is gone.  WAWAWA! There is nothing at all to look at except this stupid manna.” (paraphrased)

Moses heard the people weeping but he wasn’t the only one.

The Lord said, ” You have wept in my ears.”

He took it personally.  “You have rejected the Lord who is among you.”

Paul says in Philippians 4:11, “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry.”

Am I content or do I want more? I’ve started quoting Hebrews 13:5 to myself whenever I want more.  I’m surprised at how often I quote it.  I am learning.

“Be content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.'”  Hebrews 13:5

I have the Lord.  He is more than enough.
